Author's Memoir Receives First Place

Mount Joy author Brenda Lee Sieglitz recently received first place for her memoir "Ebb From the Shoreline ∆ Finding Cancer and Courage" in the Editor's Choice Nonfiction category of the North American Book Awards presented by Friesens in coordination with the Idaho Book Extravaganza. The awards banquet will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13, in Boise, Idaho.

In March, Sieglitz self-published her love-and-loss memoir that entails how she met and fell in love with her late husband, Kevin Edward Boitson, and the challenges of their long-distance relationship. Each story is reflected against the blog entries she wrote during her late husband's fight against a rare angiosarcoma tumor.

Sieglitz hopes to take the book on both East Coast and Pacific Northwest tours next year. The book is for sale locally at Aaron's Books in Lititz and may be purchased on http://www.brendaleefree.com and http://www.amazon.com. Upcoming book signings are set for Saturday, Dec. 13, from noon to 3 p.m. at From My Shelf bookstore in Wellsboro and on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Greetings and Readings in Hunt Valley, Md.
