Lancaster Public Library East - Leola Branch, 46 Hillcrest Ave., Leola, will offer a variety of programs in January. Interested individuals may call the library at 656-7920 for more information. Several story times will be offered for young children. Toddler Story Time for children ages 2 to three-and-a-half will meet on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 6 will be offered on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.
R.E.A.D Dogs will be offered for all ages on Saturday, Jan. 3, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
On Saturday, Jan. 10, from 11 to 11:45 a.m., the library will host Take to the Skies for children age 6 and up. Miss Corinne will speak about Amelia Earhart, and participants will build and test various paper airplane patterns.
Open Tech Help will take place on Thursday, Jan. 15, from noon to 2 p.m. Readers may drop by to get answers for their general computer questions.
Lego Maker Space will be offered for children on Monday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to noon. At each meeting, the group chooses a challenge for building.
A Chinese New Year Celebration for children will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 2:30 p.m. A story time will take place and children will create dragons, which are considered a symbol of good luck in Chinese culture.
