The Cornwall Iron Furnace Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) was well represented at the annual Pennsylvania State Society DAR fall meeting in Harrisburg. Several chapter members attended, along with more than 230 representatives of Pennsylvania's 95 DAR chapters. The fall meeting was held to discuss the society's business and hold workshops focused on "Building Our Chapters Through Membership."
The members welcomed the new Pennsylvania State Regent, Cynthia B. Sweeney. She announced the state project for her three-year term, which will be raising funds for the renovation of Pennsylvania Children's Center at Tamassee DAR School in South Carolina.
Current Cornwall Iron Furnace chapter members R. Heather Waddell and Beverly Waddell of South Lebanon, Wanda Taylor of Palmyra, and Gloria Belair of Annville attended the meeting. Current DAR state chaplain and Cornwall Iron Furnace chapter treasurer H. Rebekah Waddell of South Lebanon also attended and presented a workshop on how the chapters can honor their members in life as well as in death.
