Beginning in May, Lancaster Public Library will offer an Arabic workshop as well as a monthly Globetrotting program.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, May 4 through July 7, an introductory course on Arabic will be taught by retired professor, teacher, and native speaker Elias George. The class will be held twice weekly from 6 to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays for 10 weeks. Readers may register by calling 394-2651, ext. 105, or visiting http://www.lpl-learnarabic.eventbrite.com.
The Globetrotting programs will be offered on the second Thursday of the month from 6 to 7:45 p.m. The first session will be Thursday, May 14. This free monthly program will take attendees to places both familiar and off the beaten track. Participants will hear the insights of experienced travelers. Each speaker will present the selected location from his or her area of expertise, whether cultural, scientific, gastronomic, or artistic.
