On Saturday, March 22, Brenda Lee Sieglitz will release her memoir, "Ebb From the Shoreline: Finding Cancer and Courage." A portion of the proceeds of book sales will benefit Angiosarcoma Awareness Inc. and the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative.
"Ebb From the Shoreline," written at the request of Sieglitz's late husband, Kevin Edward Boitson, discusses the couple's life together, including Boitson's four-month battle with cancer. Their cancer story is told through the blog entries Sieglitz wrote during Boitson's illness.
Sieglitz won Associated Content's Content of the Year Award in 2009 for her editorial "A Widow's View on the U.S. Healthcare Debate," and in 2011, she was selected as a travel writer for Wyndham's Women on their Way yearlong, travel writing program. Sieglitz is a freelance writer and speaks for travel, grief and cancer-related media outlets.
Copies of "Ebb From the Shoreline" may be purchased at http://www.brendaleefree.com, http://www.amazon.com and Aaron's Books, 35 E. Main St., Lititz. Requests for book readings and writing workshops may be sent to Sieglitz at BrendaLeeFree@gmail.com or 682-0365.
