Couple Marks 50th Anniversary September 14, 2017
Eugene and Janice Saylor of Lititz celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sept. 16 with a trip to Colorado.
They were married on Sept. 16, 1967, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Manheim by the Rev. Norman Bucher.
Eugene and Janice are the parents of Kelly Saylor and Nicole Eshleman, both of Manheim. There are three grandchildren.
Eugene is retired from RR Donnelley in Lancaster, and Janice is retired from Flowstar Lititz.
The couple worships at Jerusalem Church in Manheim.
Couple Marks 40th Anniversary September 7, 2017
Lloyd and Grace Sauder of Mountville celebrated their 40th anniversary on Sept. 3.
They were married on Sept. 3, 1977, at Northwoods United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, N.C.
Mr. and Mrs. Sauder are the parents of Carol, wife of Leo Vondas of Bethesda, Md., and John, husband of Susan Sauder, of Lancaster.
Mr. Sauder is a retired truck driver, and Mrs. Sauder is a retired nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Sauder attend Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Lancaster.
Haugs Celebrate 45th Anniversary August 21, 2017
James and Paula Haug of Columbia celebrated their 45th anniversary on Aug. 26. They were married on Aug. 26, 1972, in the chapel at the former First English Lutheran Church in Columbia.
They are the parents of Patricia Haug; Jennifer, wife of James Jones; Jessica Haug; and Pamela Haug. They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. James' parents are Carl A. Haug of Columbia and the late Anna Arndt Haug.
James is retired from the Columbia Post Office and Lancaster Newspaper. Paula is employed at QVC.
Halsteads Mark 60th Anniversary July 27, 2017
Dr. Chester and Barbara Poe Halstead of Lititz celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 4 with close friends and family at Enck's Banquet Center in Manheim. The party was given by their three children and the grandchildren.
The Halsteads were married on June 22, 1957, at Livonia Baptist Church in Livonia, Mich., by Pastor Willard Martin.
Chester and Barbara are the parents of Patricia Latimer, Edward Halstead, and Brenda Miller, all of whom reside in Manheim. There are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with a fifth expected in September.
Chester is retired from working at Colerain Baptist Church in Kirkwood and Lancaster Bible College. Barbara is retired from Murray Insurance in Quarryville.
The couple worships at Grace Church of Lititz.
Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary July 26, 2017
Donald E. and Norva M. Junkins of Red Lions recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 15, 1957 at the Windsor Church of God by the late Rev. J. D. Ensminger.
To celebrate the occasion, the couple went on a nine-day Mississippi River cruise on the American Queen and held an open house on July 8.
Donald and Norva are retired.
Couple Marks 60th Anniversary June 27, 2017
Carl and Arlene Martin celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family members on June 8. They were married in the New Holland Mennonite Church by Bishop Mahlon Witmer.
The Martins have three daughters: Carlene, wife of Jeff Petersen, Atglen; Sharon, wife of Steve Martin, New Holland; and Cathy of Atlanta, Ga. There are four grandchildren.
Couple Marks 60 Years June 9, 2017
Pastor Richard G. and Naomi A. Miller celebrated their 60th anniversary with their family during a dinner and a stay at the Hotel Hershey. The Millers met in 1955 while attending Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and they were married at the Saylorville Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 9 two years later. The couple has two sons, Phil and Tim, along with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and another great-grandchild on the way.
Naomi graduated from Ankeny High School in Iowa and Moody Bible Institute. In addition to being a pastor's wife and homemaker, she retired as a bookkeeper from B & G Lumber Company in Elizabethtown.
Richard graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School, Moody Bible Institute, Elizabethtown College and Dallas Theological Seminary.
Next year will mark 60 years that the couple worked in ministry, beginning at the Newville Bible Church in Elizabethtown. They also served with the Christian Service Brigade youth program and retired from the Maytown Church of God in 2004. Since then, Richard has continued to preach as a guest minister or as an intentional interim, and he is currently assigned at the Lancaster Church of God.
Dourtes Celebrate 70th Anniversary May 18, 2017
Jesse and Wilma Herr Dourte of Manheim celebrated their 70th anniversary on April 5. They were married at Beulah Chapel in Springfield, Ohio, on April 5, 1947. Friends and family showered them with cards, and the couple's children planned a celebration with a drop-in at Teen Central in Manheim on April 30.
They are the parents of Maxine, wife of Luther Schwartz, Manheim; Loine, wife of Jim Hain, Roanoke, Va.; Marjorie, wife of Frank Groff, Manheim; Colleen, wife of Dave Bradstreet, Norristown; Nevin, husband of Doneen Ruhl, Manheim; and Jeseen, wife of Troy Bauman, Lititz. They have 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Jesse is a retired farmer and minister in the Brethren in Christ Church, pastoring in Pennsylvania, Kansas, and Iowa. Wilma retired from nursing as a licensed practical nurse. The couple attends Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church in Mount Joy.
Hilshers Celebrate 50th Anniversary May 4, 2017
Marlin and Janet Hilsher of Elizabethtown recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. As part of the celebration, they were joined on April 29 by their family, along with several members of their original wedding party.
The Hilshers were married on April 8, 1967, at Conoy Brethren in Christ Church by the Rev. Roof and the Rev. Sollenberger.
They are the parents of Jody Hilsher of Cincinnati and Janel Hilsher Clouser of Elizabethtown. They have eight grandchildren.
Marlin is employed by Snavely's in Centerville. The couple attends Faith Bible Church in Mount Joy.
Oberholtzers Celebrate 65th Anniversary April 28, 2017
Jay and Rhoda Stauffer Oberholtzer are celebrating their 65th anniversary. The couple is marking the milestone with a vacation in Panama City Beach, Fla. The couple was married on May 3, 1952, in a double ceremony with Rhoda's twin sister, Ruth Stauffer, and Lloyd Denlinger at Landis Valley Mennonite Church. The twins were each other's maids of honor, and sister Martha Stauffer also served as Rhoda's maid of honor. Jay's best man was his brother Clair.
The couple has three sons: Donovan, husband of Carol; Gregory, husband of Jeannie; and Steven, husband of Sheri. They also have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jay and Rhoda were involved in Stauffers of Kissel Hill, the family business. Jay was a partner and executive of the SKH and Stobro corporations, and he served on the advisory boards of Commonwealth and Fulton banks and Philhaven Hospital, as well as on the pastoral team of Lititz Mennonite Church.
Rhoda served on the boards of Sovereign Bank, Mennonite Development Associates, and church organizations. At SKH, Rhoda won honors in Floral Design; at Stauffers of Kissel Hill, she developed the Floral Design division and taught the design classes. She also presented a program, "The Parables of the Flowers," at hundreds of clubs and churches in the United States, Canada, and several other foreign countries. She holds Bible studies and recently authored a book, "A Life of Business Fulfilled With Purpose."
The couple resides in Kissel Hill Manor.
Shues Celebrate 50th Anniversary April 19, 2017
William and Brenda Shue of York celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 15 with a family dinner. They were married on April 15, 1967, at Bethany United Church of Christ in York.
They are the parents of Doni Shue of York and Tracey Shue Lehigh of Dover. They have six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
William is retired from the United States Postal Service. Brenda is retired from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Red Lion.
McNatts Celebrate 60th Anniversary April 19, 2017
Dan and Kay McNatt of Christiana celebrated their 60th anniversary with a party with family and friends at Thorndale Inn on April 22. They were married on April 27, 1957, in Carmichaels.
They have two children, Tom McNatt and Kelly O'Donnell, wife of Dewey O'Donnell. The couple has four grandchildren.
Dan is retired from Reynolds Packaging in Downingtown. Kay is retired from Octorara Area School District. The couple attends Our Lady of Consolation in Parkesburg.

Marlin and Jean Oberholtzer Ginder of Lancaster celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 6. Friends and family showered the couple with cards, and the couple's children have planned a celebration to be held at Risser's Mennonite Church in April.
The Ginders were married on April 6, 1957, at the bride's home in Manheim by Bishop Homer Bomberger.
They are the parents of Larry Ginder of Manheim, Fred Ginder of Elizabethtown, Sue Aldinger of Hummelstown, Ray Ginder of Manheim, Beverly DeRise of Lititz, and Jeff Ginder of Elizabethtown. There are 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The couple worships at Risser's Mennonite Church in Elizabethtown.
Marlin is employed by Doncin Transport and is retired from farming. Jean is a homemaker.
Couple Celebrates 50th Anniversary March 30, 2017
Dean and Naomi Byers of Lancaster celebrated their 50th anniversary. They were honored on March 26 with a gathering of their children and grandchildren at the Belvedere Restaurant.
They were married on March 25, 1967, at Lancaster Grace Brethren by William Tweedle. They are the parents of Diahann, wife of John Cascarella, Lititz; Krista, wife of Patrick Gillisse, Mountville; and Justin, husband of Kristin Byers, Coatesville. They have eight grandchildren.
Dean and Naomi are both employed by Byers Butterflake Bakery.
The couple attends Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Grims Celebrate 65th Anniversary March 15, 2017
Glenn and Freda Grim will celebrate their 65th anniversary on March 22.
They are the parents of two children, Dennis Grim of York and Glenn Grim II of Manchester. They have eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Couple Marks 65th Anniversary March 1, 2017
Enos and Irene (Innerst) Eberly, lifelong Dallastown residents, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in February at Wyndridge Farm. The couple met at Dallastown Area High School, from which they both graduated from in 1950. Enos served as class president.
The Eberlys were married on Feb. 16, 1952. They have two sons, Stephen Eberly of Valley Forge, and Barry Eberly, husband of Pam, of Dallastown. There are three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
They are active members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York, and they stay active by attending Dallastown sporting events, playing golf, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.
Couple Marks 45th Anniversary February 22, 2017
Ervin "Erv" A. and Sue Vannoy Kornbau of York celebrated their 45th anniversary on Feb. 12. They had a luncheon with family followed by a quiet evening at home. Erv created a 3-D snow heart in the front yard, along with a snowman to represent each of them, a lighted sign that said "love," and a heart and the number 45 in the front window. Sue made Erv chocolate-covered strawberries.
The couple was married on Feb. 12, 1972 in York.
They are the parents of Tim of Missouri, Jim of Texas, and Beth of Wisconsin.
Erv is retired from Strine Printing, and Sue is retired from private duty nursing.

Couple Marks 60th Anniversary January 4, 2017
Sarah and James Richardson of Shrewsbury celebrated their 60th anniversary on Dec. 27, 2016, at a dinner in their honor held at First Post in York. They were joined at the event by their children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Their son Craig was unable to attend.
The Richardsons were married on Dec. 29, 1956, at Stewartstown Presbyterian Church by Sarah's father, the late Rev. Ralph E. Kaufman.
Mr. and Mrs. Richardson are the parents of Laura Fitz, wife of Steve, of York; James Richardson II, husband of Fay Roundtree, of Stewartstown; Kae Bradley, wife of Steve, of Concord, N.C.; and Craig Richardson of York.
They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The grandchildren are Matthew Fitz; Timothy, husband of Amanda Wixted; Christopher Bradley; and Sarah Bradley.
The couple worships at Stewartstown Presbyterian Church. Sarah recently retired as the full-time organist at the church, and she continues to play the organ on many Sundays. She is also a member of the bell choir and Presbyterian Women, and she actively supports the church and its mission.
Sarah volunteers for numerous organizations, including the Shrewsbury Flower Show, 4-H, and the Shrewsbury Library.
James Richardson, who is retired from Baltimore County Public Schools, is a former art teacher and the proprietor of the Village Studio Antique Shop. Collections of his intricately carved and painted Santas are displayed in homes from Pittsburgh to Alexandria, Va.
Couple Marks 50th Anniversary November 23, 2016
George and MaryAnn Shelly Lefever of Lancaster celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 26 with a drop-in gathering of friends, family and former co-workers. The celebration was organized by the couple's daughters. The Lefevers also plan to celebrate with a 2017 trip to Izaak Walton Inn and Glacier National Park in Montana to enjoy the things they love most: time together, travel, nature and trains.
They were married on Nov. 26, 1966, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, with MaryAnn's uncle, the Rev. John Witmer of Dallas, Texas, officiating and the Rev. Leroy Fegely, Otterbein's senior pastor, assisting.
Mr. and Mrs. Lefever are the parents of Colleen Soukas of Lancaster and Jennifer Repella of Gaithersburg, Md. They have one grandchild.
George is retired from Yellow Freight, and MaryAnn is retired from Curves For Women.
