Couple Marks 70th Anniversary June 22, 2018
Austin and Mary Houck Lammey of Elverson celebrated their 70th anniversary on June 17 with a celebration with their family at their home.
They were married on June 13, 1948, at Mount Carmel Methodist Church near Elverson by the Rev. Robert Pike and the Rev. William Shelton.
Mr. and Mrs. Lammey are the parents of Ronald Lammey, Randall Lammey, and Curtis Lammey, all of Elverson. They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Lammey are both retired from Lammey's General Store in Elverson. The couple attends Goodwill United Methodist Church in Elverson.
Couple Marks 65th Anniversary June 20, 2018
James "Jim" and Dorothy "Dottie" Prescott Kuntzelman of Lancaster celebrated their 65th anniversary on June 7. A family celebration will be held in the summer.
The Kuntzelmans were married on June 7, 1953, at Bainbridge Church of God in Bainbridge by the Rev. John Weaver.
They are the parents of Patricia Miller of Webster, N.Y.; Julia Heisey of Timisoara, Romania; Susan Howard of Millville, N.J.; and Edward Kuntzelman of Mount Joy. There are 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The couple worships at Faith Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Jim is retired from Elizabethtown Creamery and Oregon Dairy.
Couple Marks 50th Anniversary June 15, 2018
Sam and Joyce Carroll of Palmyra celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 1 with a surprise party hosted by their children. Family and friends were in attendance. The Carrolls were presented with a trip to Mackinac Island.
The couple was married on June 1, 1968 at Ironville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harold Ulmer.
They are the parents of Catherine Groff of Palmyra, Cynthia Brubaker of Palmyra, and Samuel Carroll of Elizabethtown. There are four grandchildren.
The couple worships at First Evangelical Congregational Church in Palmyra.
Sam is retired, but still works part time at Miller-Bixler Auto Parts in Palmyra. Joyce is retired.
Couple Marks 40th Anniversary June 11, 2018
James "Jim" and Sue Rohrer of Manheim celebrated their 40th anniversary on June 10. They plan to take their family on a cruise of the Mediterranean and a tour of Rome, Italy.
The Rohrers were married on June 10, 1978, at Westminster Presbyterian in Lancaster by the Rev. Wilbur Siddons.
They are the parents of Briana Baum, wife of Nate, York; Brittany Nolt, wife of Cameron, Mount Joy; and James Austin, Manheim. There are two grandchildren.
The couple worships at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church in Manheim.
Jim is retired from FLSmidth and Rohrer's Body Shop, both in Manheim.
Sue is employed part time by Lititz Rec Center in Lititz. She also worked as a wellness director and aquatic director in the past.
Waltmans Celebrate 70th Anniversary May 30, 2018
Ralph E. and Mary E. Waltman of Quarryville celebrated 70 years of marriage on June 3 with a drop-in celebration with friends and family at their home.
They were married on June 5, 1948, at Faith Church by the Rev. Dyrness.
They are the parents of Dave Waltman, Quarryville; the late Carol Brackbill; Tom Waltman, Quarryville; Bob Waltman, Quarryville; Marty Waltman, Washington; Darryl Swartz, Indiana; the late Gary Swartz; Ruth Kline, Quarryville; and Tammy Harrison, Strasburg. They have 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Waltman is retired after working as a self-employed excavator. Mrs. Waltman was a foster mother. They attend Mount Hope United Methodist Church in Quarryville.
Couple Marks 50th Anniversary April 19, 2018
James and Celia (Heindel) Whorl celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 13. They were married on April 13, 1968, at Mount Zion United Church of Christ in York.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Whorl were born and raised in the York area. Mr. Whorl graduated from William Penn High School and York College, and Mrs. Whorl graduated from Northeastern High School.
They are the parents of Angie Lucabaugh, wife of Chad Lucabaugh, and Michelle Kohr, wife of Stacey Kohr. They have four grandchildren: Colin, Ashlie, Owen, and Savannah.
Mr. and Mrs. Whorl enjoy attending their grandchildrens' sporting events and activities, as well as traveling throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary April 18, 2018
Gene and Betty Phillips celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 6.
Gene and Betty both attended Scott High School in Coatesville. Gene graduated in 1953 and served for 18 months in the military in Korea. Betty graduated in 1954 and then attended Chester Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1957.
After they were married in 1958, Gene and Betty first lived in a small apartment in Coatesville. They had two children, Eugene Herbert Phillips Jr. and Holly Jean Phillips. The family enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay, camping, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles and traveling.
While Gene has held various jobs over the years, he is best known for being the owner of Gene's Auto Sales in Coatesville and later Gene's Machines in Elverson, which he ran for 35 years. Betty enjoys gardening and grows much of their food. They are members of the Ebenezer Bible Chapel.
The couple has four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Kauffmans Celebrate 65th Anniversary February 23, 2018
Robert and Miriam Kauffman of Mount Joy celebrated their 65th anniversary on Feb. 18 with their family, including their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, while enjoying dinner at an Amish home.
The Kauffmans were married on Feb. 14, 1953, in New Danville.
They are the parents of Sue Kauffman Unger of Elizabethtown, Linda Brown of Mount Joy, and Steve Kauffman of Manheim. There are seven grandchildren, plus spouses, and six great-grandchildren.
Robert and Miriam are retired from dairy farming. They attend Community Bible Church.
Hakes Celebrate 62nd Anniversary February 21, 2018
Roy Jr. and Evelyn Hake of Windsor celebrated 62 years of marriage on Feb. 18. They were married on Feb. 18, 1956, by the justice of the peace.
They are the parents of Tina Coeyman, Tammy McHugh, Debra Smeltzer, and Michael Hake. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Roy is retired from Alloy Rods in Hanover. As a young man, he spent time at the sprint car tracks in York County. He taught his children to be hardworking, honest, and respectful and to put God first. Evelyn was a housewife, and she is known for her homemade potpie and chicken salad. She enjoys cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Donald and Geraldine Hershey of Manheim celebrated their 60th anniversary on Feb. 1. They were married at Hernley Mennonite Church on Feb. 1, 1958.
The Hersheys have three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

They are the parents of Terry Fichthorn, wife of Tim, of Lititz; Tammy DeJesus, wife of Jesse, of Mount Joy; Debra Stum of Columbia; Dawn Mellinger, wife of Ben, of East Petersburg; and Cindy Zimmerman, wife of Doug, of Manheim. They have 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The couple worships at Wrightsville Assembly of God.
Jay is retired from Edward Armstrong and Sons. Anne is retired from Yorgey's Dry Cleaners in Elizabethtown.
Fadelys Celebrate 50th Anniversary January 24, 2018
Eileen K. and Edward R. Fadely Sr. of Dover recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. The celebration took place on Jan. 6 in the fellowship hall at Calvary Lutheran, where a luncheon was attended by 125 guests.
The couple was married on Jan. 3, 1968, at Rohler's Lutheran Church in Dover by the late Rev. Donald Warner.
They are the parents of Edward R. Jr., husband of Jennifer Fadely, Lewisberry, and Jennifer F., wife of Timothy McCleary, York. They have four grandchildren.
They attend Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover.
Edward is retired from First Capital Federal Credit Union in York. Eileen is retired from Dentsply International in York.
Eileen is the daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth Spangler, and Edward is the son of the late William and Wella Fadely.
Couple Marks 65th Anniversary January 15, 2018
James and Virginia Robertson of York celebrated their 65th anniversary on Jan. 6. The couple's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gave them a surprise anniversary party at Church of the Open Door.
They were married on Jan. 3, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Robertson are the parents of Joni Sipling of Palmyra, Beth Hostetter of Willow Street, Rodd Robertson of York, and Tim Robertson of York. They have 30 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The couple attends Church of the Open Door. Mr. Robertson is retired from York Corrugating Company. Mrs. Robertson is retired from the York County Courthouse.

Ken and Verdella Stauffer are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married at Salem Church in Manheim on Dec. 24, 1967.
They have one son, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Couple Marks 40th Anniversary November 2, 2017
Clair and June Nolt of Manheim celebrated their 40th anniversary on Nov. 5. They were married at Mount Joy Mennonite Church on Nov. 5, 1977.
Mr. Nolt is a farmer and is also employed by Arconic in Lancaster. Mrs. Nolt is a homemaker and assists with farming responsibilities. They attend Erisman Mennonite Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Nolt are the parents of Janelle, wife of Christopher Shelly, of Lancaster; and Jeffrey Nolt of Manheim. They have two grandchildren, Marissa and Josiah Shelly. In addition to a special dinner with their family, the couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Maine.
Haugs Celebrate 45th Anniversary October 5, 2017
James and Paula Haug of Columbia celebrated their 45th anniversary on Aug. 26. They were married on Aug. 26, 1972, in the chapel at the former First English Lutheran Church in Columbia.
They are the parents of Patricia Haug; Jennifer, wife of James Jones; Jessica Haug; and Pamela Haug. They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. James' parents are Carl A. Haug of Columbia and the late Anna Arndt Haug. Paula is the daughter of Lorraine Dommel of Columbia and the granddaughter of the late Mildred Casewell.
James is retired from the Columbia Post Office and Lancaster Newspaper. Paula is employed at QVC.

Eugene and Janice Saylor of Lititz celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sept. 16 with a trip to Colorado.
They were married on Sept. 16, 1967, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Manheim by the Rev. Norman Bucher.
Eugene and Janice are the parents of Kelly Saylor and Nicole Eshleman, both of Manheim. There are three grandchildren.
Eugene is retired from RR Donnelley in Lancaster, and Janice is retired from Flowstar Lititz.
The couple worships at Jerusalem Church in Manheim.

Lloyd and Grace Sauder of Mountville celebrated their 40th anniversary on Sept. 3.
They were married on Sept. 3, 1977, at Northwoods United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, N.C.
Mr. and Mrs. Sauder are the parents of Carol, wife of Leo Vondas of Bethesda, Md., and John, husband of Susan Sauder, of Lancaster.
Mr. Sauder is a retired truck driver, and Mrs. Sauder is a retired nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Sauder attend Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Lancaster.
Halsteads Mark 60th Anniversary July 27, 2017
Dr. Chester and Barbara Poe Halstead of Lititz celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 4 with close friends and family at Enck's Banquet Center in Manheim. The party was given by their three children and the grandchildren.
The Halsteads were married on June 22, 1957, at Livonia Baptist Church in Livonia, Mich., by Pastor Willard Martin.
Chester and Barbara are the parents of Patricia Latimer, Edward Halstead, and Brenda Miller, all of whom reside in Manheim. There are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with a fifth expected in September.
Chester is retired from working at Colerain Baptist Church in Kirkwood and Lancaster Bible College. Barbara is retired from Murray Insurance in Quarryville.
The couple worships at Grace Church of Lititz.
Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary July 26, 2017
Donald E. and Norva M. Junkins of Red Lions recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 15, 1957 at the Windsor Church of God by the late Rev. J. D. Ensminger.
To celebrate the occasion, the couple went on a nine-day Mississippi River cruise on the American Queen and held an open house on July 8.
Donald and Norva are retired.
