St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 7 St. Andrew's Lane, Glenmoore, will host an event, "Protecting Children Against Human Trafficking: A Local Update," on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The panel will consist of Rich Cordivari, vice president of operations support for Allied Universal Security, who will discuss what trafficking is, signs of trafficking, who to call if one suspects a case, and what the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and public and private partnerships are doing to combat trafficking. Also on the panel will be Carol Metzker, consultant to the Salvation Army's New Day to Stop Trafficking Program, who will discuss what it means to be a victim and what the New Day program is doing. She will also offer interactive exercises and practical tips to help protect children.
Light refreshments will be offered after the discussion. A freewill offering will be accepted
