A record number of Penn Manor High School students earned instant admission to Millersville University (MU) during MU Admission Decision Day on Oct. 24. A total of 19 students of the 23 who participated in the process were admitted.
The instant decision event is intended to help make the application process more manageable for students, and it eliminates the waiting period that may cause anxiety for students and their parents. It is also meant to encourage students who may not be motivated to apply for college to take that step.
Prior to the event, participants completed admissions applications and submitted high school transcripts and SAT results, if required. MU waivers the application fee for participating students.
On Oct. 24, Joshua Belice, assistant director of admissions at MU, met individually with the students. After listening to their future goals and reviewing their transcripts, he admitted the following students: Zachary Banta, Makayla Miller, Elizabeth Anderson, Kira Aston, Rhiannon Flaig, Petros Karpouzis, Fiona Haines, Noah Buckwalter, Anna Wilton, Rory Campbell, Jerran Ngo, Katyrhina Cook, Charlotte Molitoris, Ian Smith, Jonas Commero, Valentina Zamora, Gabrielle Frey, Lester Sapp, and Madison Henry.
This is the fourth year that Penn Manor has participated in the instant admissions event.
