A workshop titled "Healing Through Nature and Travel" will be offered at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, 100 Museum Road, Stevens, on Wednesday, June 15, at 6 p.m.
The presenter will be Brenda Lee Sieglitz, a grief author and speaker and the owner of Widow Voyages. She will share tips on how to safely explore and get in touch with one's emotions on the trail. She will also recommend places to visit. Her workshop will be followed by a 45-minute hike led by environmental education specialist Gilbert Myers.
Sieglitz has been hosting workshops at conferences and parks such as Soaring Spirits International's Camp Widow, Hospice & Community Care's Pathways Center for Grief, the Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Institute and Lancaster County parks. She developed the workshop from her experiences exploring nature, which helped her cope with the loss of her husband of less than two years.
The interactive workshop is free and open to adults, especially those who have experienced a loss of a loved one. Reservations are requested and may be completing by visiting https://www.facebook.com/brendaleefree/events or emailing email@example.com.
