Bands to Perform Concert

West Lampeter Township and the Lancaster South Rotary Club will sponsor a series of free summer concerts. Flipside Big Band and Lampeter-Strasburg Community Band will perform in the first concert, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the amphitheater at Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA, 800 Village Road (Route 741), Lancaster.

Flipside's selections will include "Fever," "Why Don't You Do Right," "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby," "How High the Moon," "That Old Black Magic," "Moten Swing," "Smooth, Smooth Operator," "Billie Jean," "Lullaby of Birdland," and "Every Day I Have the Blues." Flipside's vocals will be performed by Erin Biles.

The community band's selections will include "Over the Rainbow," "America the Beautiful," "Hostrauser's March," "Mack the Knife," "Get Smart," "Trombone Blues," "Cute," "What a Wonderful World," "Paul Simon Medley," "Tijuana Brass Medley," and "Minnie the Moocher." The vocals will be performed by Elizabeth Benicci. The bands are directed by Howard Boots.
