Bands To Perform Concerts

The Lampeter-Strasburg Community Band and Flipside Big Band will perform two concerts.

Community United Methodist Church, 130 Tennyson Drive, Lancaster, will host the Lampeter-Strasburg Community Band for a "Sundaes and Songs" event on Friday, July 11, at 6 p.m. It will feature games for children, free ice cream with all the fixings, and a trolley ride for those who want to tour the neighborhood in an open-air trolley. The concert will begin at 7 p.m., and attendees should bring lawn chairs.

The event is free and open to the public. In the case of rain, the event will be postponed to Friday, July 18.

A concert by the Lampeter-Strasburg Community Band and Flipside Big Band will take place at the amphitheater at the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA, 800 Village Road, Lancaster, on Sunday, July 13, at 6:30 p.m. The two-hour concert will be the second in a series of free summer concerts sponsored by West Lampeter Township and Rotary Club of Lancaster South. Attendees should bring lawn chairs, and in the case of rain, the concert will be performed in Lampeter United Methodist Church, 1101 Village Road, Lancaster.

The bands are directed by music educator Howard Boots and consist of 45 members. The vocalists will be Clark Lash and Erin Biles.
