The Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) has announced the retirement of MaryFrances McGarrity after nearly 14 years of dedicated service and leadership. She has served as a trusted adviser and passionate advocate for businesses, municipalities, investors, and community partners, helping shape the county's continued growth and prosperity.

As senior vice president of business development and expansion services, McGarrity has worked closely with growing companies to support their expansion plans and connect them with the resources necessary to succeed. She has also worked on countless community revitalization projects throughout Chester County.

McGarrity's expertise in commercial, retail, and industrial real estate made her a trusted real estate expert. As the leader of the Redevelopment Committee, she championed numerous successful adaptive reuse and redevelopment projects, helping transform underutilized properties into productive assets. She also shared that expertise with municipalities across Chester County, supporting local economic development goals and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.

McGarrity also led CCEDC's Investor Program and was frequently the first point of contact for investors and investor companies, connecting them with resources within and outside the organization. Notably, McGarrity was the driving force behind CCEDC's successful annual Stakeholders' Breakfast and Economic Outlook events.

McGarrity shared her time and expertise outside the organization by serving on numerous boards and collaborating on countless initiatives. She and her family have organized the annual Holy Redeemer Golf Klassic benefiting the Holy Redeemer Jersey Shore Food Pantry for more than 20 years, and she has served as a board member of ChescoNet and America250 Chester County.
