Creative York posts sculpture exhibition

Creative York will present "Hilos|Threads," a solo exhibition of sculptures by internationally acclaimed artist, educator, and curator Wilfredo Valladares. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Creative York, 10 N. Beaver St., York, and the event is free and open to the public. The exhibition will continue through Saturday, July 20.

Born in Honduras, Valladares began his career as an artist and educator. He eventually relocated to the U.S. and is now based in Washington, D.C. His work bridges cultural divides, incorporating diverse historical and cultural elements.

"Hilos|Threads" explores the interconnectedness of childhood memories, migration, and cross-cultural experiences. The sculptures capture relationships between people and cultures, telling their unique stories. It incorporates portraits, headdresses, metal casting, and found objects.
