Nick Hershey Pickleball Tournament Set

The fifth annual Nick Hershey Memorial Pickleball Tournament to benefit Donegal Substance Abuse Alliance (DSAA) will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Donegal Junior High School tennis courts, 915 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, with play beginning at 8 a.m.

The Nick Hershey Memorial Pickleball Tournament started as a small group of family and friends coming together to honor Nick's life (1994-2021) and to raise funds for the DSAA. The tournament outgrew its original location on the John and Mable Hershey Farm. In previous years, the tournament has raised more than $15,000. Last year's tournament had 60 players.

Pickleball players of all levels are welcome, and partners are not required. The tennis courts will be converted to 16 pickleball courts allowing up to 60 players to compete. There will be men's and women's A and B divisions based on skill level. Players are guaranteed seven games in a round robin setup.

All proceeds will go to the DSAA to support its work throughout Lancaster County as the agency seeks to provide a lifeline to those battling addiction and living in recovery. DSAA recently celebrated its 10th anniversary of providing vital services in the addiction realm.

To register for the tournament or to learn more, contact Lisa Hershey at 717-575-0094 or lisah@hersheyag.com. There will be a registration cost.
