Score Fore a Cure Golf Tournament Set

Team Shad will host its 21st annual Score Fore a Cure Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 25, on the East Course at Briarwood Golf Club, 4775 W. Market St., York. Registration will be held from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m., with a captains' meeting at 7:50 a.m. The four-person scramble format tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The event will be held rain or shine.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams. The event will also include prizes for closest to the pin on par 3's, pot of gold, a putting contest, and a hole-in-one contest.

The fee includes the green fee, use of a cart, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, and beverages. Alcohol may be purchased at the course.

All proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). The organization works to fund research to find a cure and improve the lives of those with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease. Since 2004, Team Shad has contributed more than $555,000 to the CFF. Shad, after whom Team Shad is named, was diagnosed with CFF 20 years ago, and since then, life expectancy of people with this condition has increased from 18 to 61 years.
