“Dear Dayna, just wanted to write a quick note of thanks to you for the great article that came out in last week’s papers! I was talking to a friend at school today about it, and commented on how you brought so many details together perfectly. Not only that, but the article was very engaging to read. Ticket sales for Messiah have been strong since the article came out, and I have to believe that your skillful interviews and writing style play a big part in that.

It was a pleasure to meet you when you came to interview us, and I look forward to working with you in the future. Thanks for your ministry to our church by getting the word out so clearly. I especially appreciate that it went into several newspapers – we have people coming from every area where the article was published.”

“Dear Francine, thank you SO very much for the two front page articles about the Rotary grants to nonprofits in your recent Downingtown/Exton Thanksgiving edition. I think it is important for donors to not only know to whom the grant money is going, but also what the funds will be used for. Also, I thought your column about the process for judging the Chili Cook-off was excellent. Everything you wrote was accurate. By letting your readers know how the process works, it gives them confidence that their donations are, indeed, going to good causes, and encourages them to continue supporting these events.

In past photos/articles I have submitted to you, your publication of them has resulted in some valuable results, such as the Community Warehouse Project which generated several volunteers. The director still talks about the super volunteers she got from your publication of the photos/articles! Sooo, thank you SO much for helping so many people in the county – nonprofits, volunteers, donors, supporters – and most of all, clients, by putting information out to the public.”

“The detached address labels have been a great solution for our business. During our fall hunting
sale, we had customers visit the store with the postcard in hand. It was refreshing to see the
message reach our intended audience. As a bonus, Engle limits the detached address labels to
one per zip code so our postcard was the only one featured in our desired zip codes the week of
delivery… Kate Tessen has been fantastic to work with. She is knowledgeable and passionate about her job.
It is evident that she wants to see growth happen in our business… Engle offers solutions that work for our business to help us reach our desired audience.”

“Initially prior to 2004 my entire advertising budget was dedicated to direct mail. In late 2004, I picked a Merchandiser up in my driveway. On the way back into the house I decided to try this new venue for advertising. I called the Merchandiser for pricing and was surprised how reasonable the costs were compared to other advertising venues at the time. I placed my first advertising in the Merchandiser Newspapers in October of 2004. My phones rang off the hook and generated a huge response. It caught my team at the time off-guard, but we were sold on the Merchandiser from that point on. Our College Planning Financial business tripled in size in four years using the Merchandiser. We became one of the largest college planners in the United States on the back of our Merchandiser Advertising. We used the Merchandiser to market in four counties. After 2006, our sole source of advertising was the Merchandiser. Since 2009, We branched out into two other financial planning businesses called the Richardson Group, LLC. The present time, 50% of my advertising dollars for the Richardson Group, LLC are dedicated to the Merchandiser. We have seen these two new financial planning businesses grow 400% in six years, with a chunk of that success attributed to the Merchandiser advertising. Financial Planners travel from other parts of the United States to understand the building blocks of our success. My first response is for them to look for a Merchadiser type Newspaper in their area and start advertising in it as we do…
Our Merchandiser Sales Representative John Kaczinski is a pleasure to work with. He has offered some great marketing ideas, which were very successful. He understands our guiding principle of keep it simple, direct, and humble in everything we do. John is informative, fun, responsive and generally just a very nice guy. He answers his phone 80% of the time on the first ring. I always look forward to speaking with John.”

“In today’s high pressure auction world, marketing is a huge key in making our auctions successful. The “Penny Saver” is a wonderful marketing tool to help people find out what we have to sell and gives us space to describe the details. Then our buyers can come to our auctions educated on what they would like to purchase. We get more Real Estate “SOLD” because of the Penny Saver… Tim Moore is our Representative and helps us make sure we are promoting our auctions in the correct areas. He is very knowledgeable and his many years of experience give us confidence that what goes in his papers is the perfect game plan… Print media is still a valuable tool to help customers understand your business.”
