Tammy Miller, executive director, and Jenna Ericson, home-delivered meals coordinator, talked about the organization and its participation in Give Local York, a countywide day of fundraising set for May 1:

What is the mission of Windy Hill on the Campus?

Tammy: The mission of Windy Hill on the Campus, a senior center, is to create a community of people dedicated to learning, growth, mutual support, and social interaction.

Jenna: Windy Hill's mission is to create a community of active seniors dedicated to continued learning, personal growth, mutual support, and social interaction. We also provide meals three times per week to more than 80 homebound community members designated by the York County Area Agency on Aging.

Why is the organization excited to participate in Give Local York this year?

Tammy: This is our third year participating in the event, and this has become our largest fundraiser of the year. Give Local York is not only a fundraising tool to generate revenue and engage new donors, but it has also provided marketing opportunities for the organization and has enabled us to partner with other nonprofits in our community.

Jenna: This will be Windy Hill's third year of participating in Give Local York. Last year we raised just over $18,000 in donations from Give Local York, and we hope this year will be even better! Donations from events like Give Local York allow us to continue to offer free membership to York County seniors (age 60 and up) and free or low-cost classes for our members. Give Local York is also an excellent way for us to get the word out to those in our community who aren't aware of our programs. We have so much to offer seniors in our community! We look forward to welcoming new members through this event and also hope to appeal to generous donors who understand the importance of what we have to offer our community.
