What is the mission of the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania?

The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania (BIAPA) is to foster a community of education, advocacy, support, and research to maximize the quality of life for those with brain injury and their families.

Why is the organization excited to participate in Give Local York this year?

BIAPA is very excited to participate in Give Local York for the first time! The programs we offer in York County would greatly benefit from this wonderful opportunity. Our Brain Injury Resource Line (BIRL) 1-800-444-6443 and the support we provide in York County schools with BrainSTEPS School Re-Entry are just two programs that would benefit. We offer two support groups in York County: Aim High at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York and INSPIRE at WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital of York. Both groups support people who have sustained a brain injury and/or their families, caregivers, and friends. Give Local York could provide us with the opportunity to improve these services in York County.
