Cattle Feeders Day Scheduled

The 52nd annual Lancaster Cattle Feeders Day will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 9 a.m. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, this year's event, traditionally conducted at the Lancaster Farm and Home Center, will be offered virtually.

The slate of speakers will include Francis Fluharty, Animal and Dairy Science Department at the University of Georgia, who will address "Underlying Factors on the Spring 2020 Beef Supply Chain and Market." Additionally, Robbi Pritchard, South Dakota State University, will deliver information on "Pricing Structures for Conventional versus Non-Conventional Cattle Feeding." Scott Barao, executive director of the Maryland Beef Council, will speak on "Building a Local Beef Market: Challenges and Opportunities." Tara Felix, Penn State Extension beef specialist, will provide an update on the "Beef on Dairy" research project being conducted at Penn State. There will be ample time for questions and a few short industry presentations between speakers.
