Library Posts Updates, Reading Challenge

ELANCO Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, is open for brief browsing visits. There is no seating for quiet study, research, reading, or meetings. Public access computers are no longer available due a recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the area. Visitors are asked to limit their visits to 30 minutes or less.

The library's goal is to be able to remain open, so patrons are asked to take note of several health directives. Face masks that cover the mouth and nose are required for entry for everyone over age 2. Individuals who are unable to wear a mask may utilize the library's no-contact self-pickup service as an alternative.

In celebration of Love Your Library Month, February, the library will decorate its bulletin board with hearts created by patrons. The library will offer a variety of events, all of which will be virtual. For more details and registration, readers may visit http://www.elancolibrary.org and click on Calendar.

A Blizzard of Books, the winter reading challenge, will run through Saturday, Feb. 27. The challenge is open to people of all ages. To enter, an individual must read five books and record them on the entry form. Paper forms are available at the library. Books read aloud to others, including children, also count. Patrons may enter as many times as they like. Three winners will be chosen at random to receive a small prize. The last day to enter is Feb. 27, and winners will be notified by Monday, March 8.
