Pesticide Update Workshop Slated

Private and commercial pesticide applicators can obtain recertification by attending an Agronomic Pesticide Update workshop offered by Penn State Extension and sponsored by Ag Leader. The update will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Haar's Drive-In, 185 Logan Road, Dillsburg. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.

Presentations will include annual Dicamba training from Bayer, "What's New in Pest Management" from Extension specialists, and "Pollinators and Pesticides." The program will offer a total of two core and two private/category 01 credits.

Pennsylvania and CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines will be enforced to mitigate risk to event staff and participants, including physical distancing, mask wearing outside of cars, encouraging participants to stay inside their cars, and procedures for reducing the number of people at congregation points. Restroom facilities will not be available, and participants should plan accordingly.

There is a nominal cost for the two-hour update. Preregistration is required by Monday, Feb. 22, and registration is capped at 240 vehicles or 300 individuals. No walk-in registration will be allowed.
