Gospel Traditions Event Scheduled

In honor of Black History Month, Susquehanna Folk Music Society will host Artist to Artist: A Residency Exploring Gospel Traditions. In partnership with Penn State Harrisburg, the event will feature the Campbell Brothers and the Spiritual Messengers "Warriors for God" on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Participants in the online event will learn about gospel music, from the important role it plays in black churches to its influences on rock music and pop culture. The event will include conversations with the artists, musical demonstrations, and concerts featuring both performing groups. Amy Skillman, folklorist, will serve as moderator.
