Library System Posts Calendar

The Dauphin County Library System will offer a variety of virtual programs to the community. For further details and registration, readers may visit http://www.dcls.org or call 717-234-4961 and select option 6. Registrants will receive a link and additional instruction via email.

All libraries of the Dauphin County Library System will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of the Presidents Day holiday.

Three recurring programs will be held on Mondays. Born to Read, designed for babies up to age 18 months and their caregivers, will run from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. Cruise Into Kindergarten will be held from 11 to 11:35 a.m. for children ages 4 to 6. Anime Club, open to teens ages 13 to 18, will meet from 4 to 5 p.m.

Programs on Tuesdays will include Discord Hangouts: Gaming from 3 to 5 p.m. for teens, those ages 13 to 18; Animal Crossing with The Library for youths ages 11 to 18 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; and Family Story Time from 6 to 6:30 p.m. for families with children of all ages.

On Wednesdays, Toddler Story Time, open to children, ages 19 to 35 months and their caregivers, will run from 10 to 10:30 a.m., and Virtual Create Lab for children ages 6 to 12 will meet from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The YA Book Club will meet on Wednesdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and is open to teens ages 14 to 17.

Discord Hangouts: Chat will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and is open to teens, those ages 13 to 18. Preschool Story Time will be offered on Fridays from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers.

Dungeons and Dragons for teens, those ages 13 to 18, will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Fridays. The program will also be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Mental Health Series: Music and the Arts for Self-Care will be presented from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, and is open to adults, those age 18 and older. D&D Tutorial, for students ages 11 to 18, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11. Dungeons and Dragons for adults will run from 7 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 11.

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m., Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be held for adults. Hari Jones Hidden Histories Program: The Importance of Narrative Correction will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. for individuals age 16 and older on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Discover Our Community: A Discussion About Race in Central PA will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, and is open to teens, those ages 13 to 18.

The "Me" Quilt, a special story time featuring "Cassie's Word Quilt" by Faith Ringgold, will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, and again from 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25. The program is open to families with children of all ages.

Mindfulness for Teens will run from 10 to 11 a.m. on Feb. 20 for individuals ages 13 to 18. Job Seeker Resources: Plan an Effective Job Search and Prepare for the Interview will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, for adults.

Knit One, Crochet Too! will gather from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, and is open to individuals age 15 and older. An Author of the Year program, a book discussion of "The Orchid Thief" by Susan Orlean, for adults will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 25.

A free presentation and clinic titled "Lawyers in Libraries: Civil Legal Services: Are You Eligible for an Expungement?" will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 by Kara P. Pike, attorney and member of the Dauphin County Bar Association's Pro Bono Program. The program is designed for adults. Following the presentation, participants will have an opportunity to ask specific questions.
