Rager Earns Eagle Scout Award

Cody Rager, a 15-year-old sophomore at Hershey High School, earned his Eagle Scout rank following his successful board of review on Jan. 24. Cody is a member of Hershey Troop 65 based at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hershey. He is currently the senior patrol leader of the troop as well as the president of Hershey BSA Venture Crew 2010 and a member of Order of the Arrow Lodge 11, where he leads the Ceremonies Team and holds the position of lodge treasurer.

His Eagle Scout project included rebuilding the well house that provides potable water to the Swatara Water Shed Campground and building a water station behind the campground office for campers and kayakers to wash dishes and clean camping and boating equipment.

Cody has been involved in Scouting since 2012, when he joined Hershey Cub Pack 65 as a Wolf. He has attended 44 Scout camping events and four summer camps, and he has participated in 87 community service events totaling 233 hours of service to others.

Cody plans to attend the High Adventure program at Philmont Scout Ranch this summer. He also intends to become a junior assistant Scoutmaster once he turns 16.

In addition to his Scouting involvement, Cody is a member of the Hershey High School delegation of the Pennsylvania Youth and Government club and a member of the Hershey High School power lifting club. His future plans include joining the military with a career path in the aeronautics field.
