WAA Plans National Tour

Wreaths Across America (WAA) announced the start of the 2021 national tour for its Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE). The MEE hit the road in Maine and is heading southwest toward Texas for both private and public scheduled events.

The goal of the Wreaths Across America MEE is to bring community members together and teach patriotism while honoring U.S. veterans. The exhibit serves as a mobile museum, educating visitors about the service and sacrifice of the nation's veterans as well as serving as an official welcome home station for Vietnam veterans. The MEE features interactive exhibits, short films, and shared stories.

When the MEE visits an area, all veterans, active-duty military members, their families, and local community members are encouraged to visit, take a tour, and speak with WAA representatives and volunteers who can share more about the national nonprofit and the work its volunteers do to support veterans and their communities year-round. Tours of the MEE are free and open to the public with social distancing, sanitation protocols, and other COVID-19 safety procedures in place to protect the health of all visitors.

To host the MEE in a local community, readers may visit http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/mee.

Individuals can also sponsor a veteran's wreath anytime for a set fee at http://www.wreathacrossamerica.org. Each sponsorship goes toward a live balsam wreath that will be placed on the headstone of a veteran as WAA endeavors to honor all deceased veterans at noon on Saturday, Dec. 18, as part of National Wreaths Across America Day.
