Lions Club Will Host Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is right around the corner, and that means the hunt for eggs is on in Manheim. The Manheim Lions Club will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 3, beginning at 1 p.m. The event will take place at the Manheim Central football stadium. The school is located at 400 Adele Ave. Children ages 1 to 12 are invited to participate. The rain date for the event will be Saturday, April 10.

The Easter egg hunt has been held by the club for more than 60 years, said club member Nancy Husser. "We had to cancel it last year," she said, adding that the club received approval from the Manheim Central School District to hold the event this year.

No registration is required for the event. "People and children can just show up," Husser noted. "We have four different areas where the eggs will be. These areas will be divided by age group. ... All age group hunts begin at 1 p.m."

She is hoping the Easter Bunny will be able to attend this year's event and said the club members are looking forward to providing families with a fun tradition.

"We are trying to bring some normalcy back into the kids' lives," she stated, noting that the event will still adhere to COVID guidelines. "We are encouraging everyone to wear a mask and social distance and enjoy a Manheim tradition."
