English, Hannan Receive Recognition

Lower Dauphin High School seniors Abigaile English and Anthony Hannan were recently recognized. Abigaile was named Young Woman of the Month for February by the Women's Club of Hummelstown, and Anthony was named Student of the Month for February by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown.

Abigaile is the daughter of Christine and Matthew English. She is a four-year member of the girls' soccer team. She is a team leader and a three-year leader of the Science National Honor Society, as well as a two-year member of the Math Honor Society, where she serves as treasurer. Abigaile is also a member of the History Honor Society and National English Honor Society. She is a three-year member of the Volunteen Club and the Envirothon team.

In the community, Abigaile has been a member of the LDC/Penn FC soccer clubs for the past four years, and she is involved in various volunteer activities.

She plans to attend a four-year postsecondary institution and major in biology - bio-behavioral health with the goal of pursuing a career in the medical field.

Anthony is the son of Catherine Hannan and Michael Hannan. He is a two-time president and four-year member of Student Council, a student executive and a three-year member of the Mini-THON committee, and judicial co-president and a three-year member of Youth and Government. He is also a leader and two-year member of the Science National Honor Society. Anthony is a three-year member of the Spanish Language Honor Society, a two-year member of the National English Honor Society and the Falcon Broadcast Channel, and a one-year member of the History Honor Society and Math Honor Society.

In the community, Anthony has volunteered at the Hershey Medical Center for the past four years.

He plans to attend Colgate University and major in biology with the goal of going to medical school to become a surgeon or an oncologist.
