Solid Rock Sets Flavorful Farm-To-Table Fundraiser

Located in Quarryville, Solid Rock Youth Ministries strives to earn trust through authentic relationships with youths so lives can be changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To accomplish this mission, Solid Rock offers several activities throughout the year, including after-school programs, art and drama programs, family fun events, and more.

On Friday, May 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., Solid Rock will host its third annual farm-to-table fundraiser. The event will take place at Wesley Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville. Food pickup, which will be a drive-through experience, will be available from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will be live music from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees must preorder their tickets by calling 717-786-8007 or visiting http://bit.ly/solidrockfarmtotable. Registration will close on Saturday, May 15.

The dinner will be a three-course meal. The appetizer will consist of fruit salad with cinnamon chips, and the main course will consist of locally raised beef, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, a salad, and a dinner roll. Whoopie pies will be provided for dessert. Attendees can choose from lemonade, water, and iced tea for their beverage. Once food has been picked up, people can take their meals home, or they can stay and eat in their vehicles or in the church's yard. Solid Rock encourages people to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and games.

"We've been so blessed by the community and their support over the years. They really believe in our mission," said Raeanne Nixon, executive director of Solid Rock. "I'm looking forward to seeing everyone because whenever we have an event, it's like a big family reunion."

Pam Williams, the chair of the event, said, "People should attend the event because they would be supporting a local ministry that does amazing things with kids in the community. Solid Rock does a lot with local families, too. If there is a need, Raeanne is looking to fill it."

This summer, Solid Rock will host its fourth annual 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 9 a.m. The race will begin at the trailhead for the Enola Low Grade Trail at 301 E. State St., Quarryville. Registration is open. For more information, visit http://solidrockquarryville.com/run.
