Scouts Learn About Girls Around The World

Brownie Troop 71308, based in Brownstown and consisting of second- and third-graders, worked on the "A World of Girls" Journey on April 17. The goal of the program is to have fun exploring how stories and games can link participants to the wide world of girls and how participants belong to this wide world of girls, too. The program aims to strengthen girls' confidence and give them opportunities to better the world.

Brownies learned that stories contain clues that can be used to make the world a better place. Scouts discussed fictional stories that take Brownie girl characters to diverse places in the world as well as stories of real-life Brownies exploring their world closer to home. Together, members of Troop 71308 cooked foods from other countries, including mango dip, adobo chicken and crepes.
