Mount Joy Rotary Lauds Snyder, Younger

The Donegal High School Counseling Office and Career Resource Center has announced Carolyn Snyder and Taj Younger as the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month for May. Students of the Month are honored by members of the Mount Joy Rotary during their monthly luncheon meeting.

Carolyn is the daughter of Troy and Brandy Snyder of Mount Joy. She is a two-year member of National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society and a four-year member of the track and field team. She has also been involved in Prayer Group throughout high school, serving as a leader since 2019.

Outside of school, Carolyn serves in various capacities at Community Bible Church, such as a student worship leader and a volunteer in the children's department. Since 2017, Carolyn has volunteered at Camp Ladybug.

Her future plans include attending Arrowhead Bible Camp's gap year program in Brackney, serving as a camp counselor with adults who have physical and developmental disabilities and pursuing a special education degree at Lancaster Bible College.

Taj is the son of Shawn and Frelyn Younger of Mount Joy. Taj has displayed his athletic ability with Donegal's wrestling team throughout high school, track and field team in ninth and 10th grades and football team in ninth grade. He is a two-year member of National Honor Society and a three-year member of National Art Honor Society. Taj has served as a class officer since his freshman year, was a part of the Debate Club and Chess Club in 11th grade and participated with Donegal Performing Arts this school year.

After graduation, Taj plans to attend Cleveland Institute of Art to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration.
