Adamstown Community Days To Usher In Summer

Adamstown Community Days will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 28, 29 and 30, in the Adamstown Park, 300 W. Main St., Adamstown. The event celebrates the community and welcomes the summer. Admission, parking and entertainment are free. Donations will be accepted.

The carnival will open at 5 p.m. on May 28 and 2 p.m. on May 29 and May 30. On May 30, a community worship service will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Adamstown Grove at the stage. There will not be a large tent this year. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved indoors to Gehman's Mennonite Church, 127 Witmer Road, Reinholds.

Entertainment will include The Uptown Band on May 28 at 7:30 p.m.; karaoke on stage with Josh Levengood on May 29 at 4:30 p.m.; Lights Out presenting its new show, "The Jersey Beach Boys," on May 29 at 7:30 p.m.; a dance presentation by Danstation School of Dance on May 30 at 2:30 p.m.; and Flamin' Dick and the Hot Rods on May 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Other activities will include a pulled pork dinner by the Adamstown Lions Club at 5 p.m. and an open cruise night at 6 p.m. on May 28; a chicken barbecue by Abundant Living Church from 2 p.m. until sold out on May 29; and a chicken barbecue dinner by Immanuel Church from 2 p.m. until sold out on May 30. Attendees may purchase wristbands for unlimited rides from 2 to 5 p.m. on May 29 and 30.

The grand finale fireworks show by D & M Fireworks, including 10,000 rocket fireworks, is planned for 10 p.m. on May 30. The show may be held earlier or later than 10 p.m. depending on the weather forecast. Any cancellations will be posted at http://www.adamstowncommunitydays.com by 8 p.m. on May 30. The rain date is Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, at 9 p.m.
