Artist To Show Acrylic Paintings

Jill Brinser of Hermione Paints has shown her artwork at Mulberry Art Studios, 21 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, three consecutive years during the We Love Our Pets Exhibit, but soon she will fill the gallery space with a collection all her own - "Elements and Personalities, Realistic Still Lifes and Portraits by Hermione Paints." The show will open with a First Friday reception on June 4 from 5 to 9 p.m., and it will be displayed through Wednesday, June 30.

After 28 years of working in design and advertising, Brinser decided to reinvent herself as an acrylic painter. In late 2018, she rekindled a long-ignored passion for fine art. A resident of Elizabethtown, Brinser has shown her work at area shows and businesses and keeps a running list of styles and subjects to explore. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Brinser is an active member of the Hershey Area Art Association.

Brinser said she likes to explore details such as reflections, highlights, shadows and textures, and she tries to present her subjects in a new way. The "Elements" portion of her upcoming show consists of 17 still lifes that feature metal items, glass objects, food and objects from nature. The "Personalities" series comprises portraits of six people Brinser knows.
