Committee To Share Results Of Survey

The Derry Township Climate Change Advisory Committee has completed a survey determining residents' attitudes and concerns about climate change. The report is available at https://tinyurl.com/hersheyclimatesurvey.

It will also be available for review at the Market on Chocolate, adjacent to the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department, 21 W. Caracas Ave., on Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and at the farmers market at the Cocoa Beanery, 1215 Research Blvd., Hummelstown, on Thursday, June 10, from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Members of the committee will be available at both markets to answer questions and further explain the significance of the study and what all citizens can do to make a difference.

The Climate Change Advisory Committee, a citizens' group, has also finished its comprehensive inventory of the community's greenhouse gas emissions, which took place over more than two and a half years. The committee was tasked with this study in 2018 by the Derry Township Board of Supervisors, and the committee will eventually also recommend strategies that may help to reduce the community's impact.
