Virtual Susquehanna Folk Festival Planned

The Dauphin County Library System, York County Libraries, Martin Library, and Hershey Public Library have partnered with Susquehanna Folk Music Society (SFMS) to present the Susquehanna Folk Festival virtually this summer. Register in advance for each virtual program at http://www.sfmsfolk.org.

SFMS will present Beverley Street on Wednesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. The interactive program for people of all ages will feature sing-alongs, fiddle and banjo music, physical comedy, humorous poetry, and storytelling.

Cups and Crankies: Homegrown Family Fun has been set for Wednesday, June 30, at 2 p.m. Box and String will lead an interactive workshop for people of all ages featuring moving panoramas (crankies), games and crafts with ordinary paper cups, original and traditional songs about animals, and dancing.

Andy's Wild Amphibian Show will take place on Wednesday, July 14, at 2 p.m. The show will feature tadpoles, parental questions, a five-gallon pickle jar, a cat named Bootsie, and more.

The festival is being supported in part by a Welcoming Communities Grant from Better York with additional support from the Fred Heagy Family.
