CVEF Announces Grant Decisions

The Conestoga Valley Education Foundation (CVEF) has awarded 12 grants to staff across the district totaling more than $118,599.

Grants were awarded to the establish a Middle School Quiz Team, to purchase a subscription to Virtual Reality for the Classroom, to fund additional STEM supplies for Conestoga Valley's primary students, to create a Musical Playspace at Fritz Elementary, to fund 21st Century Music Makers: Audio Production Course that will allow the high school to change its current music technology lab into a state-of-the-art audio production center, to purchase a Powermatic WP2510 Digital Planer so high school students can experience hands-on learning, and to implement a ZEN Den: Restorative Practice Building and training of 30 CV staff in restorative practice.

Grants were also awarded to fund a Benchmark Program that employs strength-based, trauma-informed mentoring practices to connect at-risk youths with adult role models in a fitness environment, to cover the costs of installing a museum-quality triceratops dinosaur donated by an alumnus of Conestoga Valley in the new Gerald G. Huesken Middle School, to fund the Refugee Interdisciplinary 8 West Service - Learning Project, to fund the Modern Music Initiative, and to purchase a Lego Education BricQ Motion Prime Set to encourage eighth-grade students to discover science through sports.
