LHF Antiques Show To Return

Tom Oehme, coordinator of the 2021 Lititz Historical Foundation (LHF) Antiques Show, is glad to see the event returning. "Last year's antique show was canceled," he noted, adding that this year's show will have a new venue, among other changes.

The 58th show is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26, at the Lititz recCenter, 301 W. Maple St., Lititz. On June 25, the show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on June 26, it will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plenty of free parking will be available at the rec center and also at the Warwick Middle School next door. Funds raised by the event will be donated to the LHF.

According to Oehme, 45 dealers from around the country have been recruited for this year's event. He stated that dealers plan to travel from as far away as New Hampshire. "There is one from Ohio and another from upstate New York," Oehme said.

The show is known to offer diversity among the items that will be available for sale, and as in the past, items offered for sale should include plenty of Americana, country primitives, and unexpected items of interest. Organizers note that in 2021, attendees will find weathervanes, Christmas and holiday items, country furniture in first generation paint, wooden carvings, butter prints, redware, signs, blue decorated stoneware, textiles, wrought iron implements, decoys, hooked rugs, fraktur, and tramp art. Oehme noted that the show is known for vendors who carry authentic antique items.

New this year, food will be offered for sale in a designated area outside the building. "The Masonic Lodge in Manheim will have food tables set up," said Oehme, who has worked with the food vendor on other events and noted the popularity of the items available for purchase. "They usually do breakfast and lunch items, and they do an outstanding job. People really like the food," he recalled.

There is a cost to attend the show. Children age 10 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Those who would like to know more about LHF may visit http://www.lititzhistoricalfoundation.com or search for "Lititz Historical Foundation" on Facebook.
