Celebrate Independence Day In East Petersburg

Independence Day celebrations will return to East Petersburg. On Friday, July 2, from 5:30 to 10:15 p.m., there will be live performances, a movie in the park, and a fireworks display at the East Petersburg Civic Grounds and Community Park, 6051 Pine St., East Petersburg.

For the first time this year, starting at 5:30 p.m, food trucks will offer food for dinner and dessert throughout the evening. The following food trucks will be at the event: Uncle Jerry's Kettle Corn, Shorty's Funnel Cakes, Dough Heads Waffles, Scoops Ice Cream & Grille, and Bricker's Famous French Fries. There will also be live performances by the Lancaster Improv Players, a comedy theater group that studies, performs, and teaches long- and short-form improv comedy, which will be suitable for people of all ages.

"We're looking forward to the community coming back out to spend time together," said president of the East Petersburg Events Committee Kristin Troops. "It's been a crazy year, and this is a great opportunity to connect with people."

Later in the evening, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., people are invited to relax under the stars and enjoy a movie in the park. This year, the movie will be "Sonic the Hedgehog." Following the movie will be a Lancaster Toyota Independence Day Fireworks Display.
