The community is invited to celebrate America's 245th birthday with an old-fashioned family picnic at the Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village, 1268 Muddy Creek Forks Road, Airville, on Sunday, July 4. Food will be available for purchase from noon to 5 p.m. or visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic food.

Motorcar train rides through the Muddy Creek Valley will begin at 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, and 4:15 p.m. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

In addition, there will be old-fashioned crafts and games throughout the afternoon. The 1915-era A.M. Grove general store, mill, and grain elevator will be open, and costumed docents will be present. Guided tours of the village of Muddy Creek Forks are available for visitors who buy train tickets.
