Sophia DeRise's first novel was published in April through Zenith Publishing. Her book, "The Facts and Legends of Callie Catwell," is a first-person narrative in the young adult magical realism genre.

DeRise is a 2017 graduate of Manheim Central High School. She graduated from Temple University, Philadelphia, in December 2020.
