New Little Free Library Launched

A new Little Free Library (LFL) recently opened at Jen's Pottery Den, 711 Olde Hickory Road, Lancaster. Little Free Libraries are small, neighborhood book exchanges that are intended to create communities of readers.

Jen's Pottery Den's owners, Peter and Reenie Panzini, built this local LFL installation. They initially stocked the library and will oversee the restocking of donated books from staff and the community.

Reenie stated that, although the library is located inside the store, she and her husband see it as belonging to the entire community, and they hope that it will add joy and connection, as well as books, to the area. The LFL will be accessible during store hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Little Free Library (LFL) is a nonprofit organization that is intended to inspire a love of reading, build community, and improve book access by fostering neighborhood book-exchange boxes around the world. LFL received the 2020 World Literacy Award and has been recognized by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation and others for its dedication to expanding book access for all.
