LDHL Provides Interest-Free Loans

Lancaster Dollars for Higher Learning (LDHL) recently awarded interest-free loans to 257 Lancaster County students to offset the cost of their postsecondary education for the 2021-22 school year. The recipients are applicants who demonstrated financial need.

The interest-free loans varied from $850 each for students attending one semester only to $1,700 each for students attending a full academic year. LDHL awarded loans to nine single-semester students and 248 full-year students. The loans will be applied to tuition expenses at 82 colleges and universities across the country.

Since 1961, LDHL has partnered with donors each year to provide more than $18 million in interest-free loans to Lancaster County students seeking higher education. Loans are also made possible each year by the repayment of loans granted to previous recipients.

LDHL is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide financial resources to Lancaster County residents in support of their postsecondary education goals. By offering funds to Lancaster County students on an annual basis, LDHL hopes to lessen the long-term expense for postsecondary education and training.
