Greystone Manor Plans Horse Show

Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center (GMTRC) on Hartman Station Road in Lancaster will hold its annual horse show on Saturday, Sept. 18. This year's show has the theme "The Chincoteague Roundup" and is inspired by the traditional running of the wild ponies in Chincoteague and Assateague.

Attendance is free and open to the public. Guests are welcome to watch as the 45 featured riders demonstrate their achievements in equitation from the past year. The show is made possible by 19 class sponsors and 45 additional sponsors and advertisers.

Board member and equestrian Marilu Garofola will serve as the judge. The first class will start at 9 a.m., and the show will run until approximately 3:30 p.m. Food will be available by donation, and logo wear will be available for purchase.

For 40 years, GMTRC has been offering therapeutic riding lessons and equine assisted learning to children and adults with special needs. Clients' diagnoses include Down syndrome, neurological injuries, autism, depression and anxiety. GMTRC's therapeutic riding program utilizes 12 specially trained horses and ponies.
