Cranksgiving To Help Families

Ephrata Area Social Services and Lititz Bikeworks will host Cranksgiving on Saturday, Oct. 23, in Lititz. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a rolling start from Rock Lititz, 201 Rock Lititz Blvd., Lititz. Cyclists will ride through Amish farmland in Lancaster County, including two covered bridges and the fall foliage along the WERT rail trail. Riders may arrive any time between 9 and 11:30 a.m.

Participants may choose from a three-stop 30-mile route and a one-stop 1-mile route. There is no registration fee, but participants are asked to purchase nonperishable food items at each grocery stop along the route to place in the donation area at each store. Donations will feed local families through Ephrata Area Social Services.
