MAHS To Celebrate Homecoming

Middletown Area High School (MAHS) will hold its homecoming festivities on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 9.

The activities will begin on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. with the annual MAHA Alumni Association Dinner and Hall of Fame Induction at Middletown Area Middle School. The MAHS homecoming dance, themed "Under the Lights," will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the new MAHS turf stadium.

On Oct. 9, the homecoming parade will begin at noon at Hoffer Park and end at War Memorial Field. At 2 p.m., the MAHS Blue Raiders will take on Camp Hill High School.

At halftime, the homecoming queen ceremony will take place, which will include the presentation of the homecoming court and the crowning of the queen.

The 2021 homecoming queen candidates are Taylor Brady, Carly Dupes, Marly Fox, Khyra Little and Lani Moore. Also on the court are Vincent "Vinny" Corradi, Gavin Guckavan, Dagan Hughes, Todd Richard Turner Jr. and Matt Wagner.

Taylor is the daughter of Paul and Mary Brady. She is a member of the soccer team, Mini-THON Club and prom committee. Taylor plans to attend college to study biology.

Carly is the daughter of Carl and Jannell Dupes. She is a member of the prom committee; Key Club; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; National Honor Society; Link Crew; Mini-THON Club; and the volleyball and softball teams. Carly plans to attend college to study nursing, with the goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist.

Marly is the daughter of Michael and Destinie Fox. She is a member of the soccer team, prom committee and Mini-THON Club, and she assists in the Life Skills classroom. Marly plans to attend HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College to earn a nursing degree and pursue a career in the mental health field.

Khyra is the daughter of Alexander and Stephanie Little. She is a member of the Mini-THON Club; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; Key Club; and prom committee. She is a manager for the wrestling team and boys' basketball team. Khyra plans to move to Arizona, where she will attend a community college and then transfer to Arizona State University to major in elementary education.

Lani is the daughter of Mike and Amanda Moore. She is a four-year varsity volleyball player and is a captain her senior year; a four-year varsity track member; a member of Key Club and two-year president; a Link Crew member; a four-year Mini-THON Club member and two-year president; and a member of the PRIDE Club, prom committee and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. After high school, Lani plans to attend Millersville University to major in business administration with a minor in gerontology.

Vinny is the son of Michael and Heather Corradi. He is a member of the wrestling team and the track and field team, and he serves as a class officer. Vinny plans to attend college.

Gavin is the son of Barbra Guckavan. He is a member of the soccer and swim teams and Link Crew. Gavin plans to attend college to study education and continue his swimming career.

Dagan is the son of Greg and Patty Hughes. He is a member of the soccer team, Mini-THON Club and Link Crew. Dagan plans to attend college to major in biochemistry.

Todd is the son of Georgette Cottrell. He is a member of the soccer team, a part of the prom committee and head chair member of the Middletown Senior Sport Instagram. Todd plans to attend a historically black college or university to study pre-med and minor in business.

Matt Wagner is the son of Jason and Susan Wagner. He is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Mini-THON Club and the basketball and baseball teams. Matt plans to attend college to study business.
