Civil Air Patrol Offers STEM Kits

Educators can get free Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) kits from the U.S. Air Force through their local Civil Air Patrol squadron. Educators can be public, private, or homeschool workers as well as advisers in community educational groups.

The kits, valued at from $50 to $500, can be ordered by Aerospace Education (AE) members who, after an initial fee, pay no annual membership ever. AE members can also receive free orientation flights in Civil Air Patrol aircraft, and there is no requirement to be active in the local squadron.

For details, including a list of available STEM kits, visit http://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/programs/aerospace-education. For more information, contact Capt. Gregory Sollenberger, aerospace education officer for the Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304, at cc010@pawg.cap.gov.

Composite Squadron 304 meets on Mondays at 7 p.m. at Lancaster Municipal Airport, 110 Millport Road, Lititz. Meetings are held in the Venture Jets hangar.
