Solanco To Celebrate Homecoming

The Solanco High School homecoming football game will take place on Friday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. against Conestoga Valley. Prior to the home football game, the homecoming court will be introduced. At halftime, the Solanco band will play a short program and then Paige Balliet and Ryan Smith, 2020 homecoming queen and king, will crown the queen. The homecoming king will be crowned on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the homecoming dance, which will be held outside.

The homecoming queen candidates are Kara Armstrong, Maya Dolan, Caroline Drumm, Anna Lisinski, Erin Lynne Melot, Reagan Mendez, Rilyn Abigail Saner, and Hannah Wood. The homecoming king candidates are Blake Cheyney Morgan, Cole Jacob Gladfelter, Trent Alexander Henry, Aden "AJ" Jackson, Trent McDowell, Jonathan Revolorio Morales, Elijah Reimold, and Steven Williams III.

Kara Armstrong is the daughter of Erik and Trina Armstrong of New Providence. She is a tennis team captain, the yearbook editor, president of the Spanish National Honor Society (SNHS), a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), and a Link Crew leader. Kara volunteers at the Quarryville Public Library. After graduating, she plans to attend college to study creative writing.

Maya Dolan is the daughter of John and Teresa Dolan of Quarryville. She is treasurer of the Student Senate Executive Board, is vice president of the SNHS, has helped with numerous school blood drives, and has played varsity soccer for four years. Outside of school, she plays club soccer. After graduating, she plans to attend college to become a physical therapist assistant.

Caroline Drumm is the daughter of Christopher and Toni Drumm of New Providence. She has participated in Student Senate and National Art Honor Society (NAHS) and received an art award from the Lancaster County Young Artist's Awards. After graduating, she plans to attend art school.

Anna Lisinski is the daughter of Seth and Gina Lisinski of Kirkwood. She is a member of Ophelia Club, Youth Education Association club, and Art Renaissance club. After graduating, Anna plans to attend college to major in education.

Erin Lynne Melot is the daughter of Donald and Kelly Melot of Kirkwood. She is a member of Student Senate, Rachel's Challenge, Ophelia Club, and she is a Special Olympics buddy. Outside of school, she attends youth group at Freedom Life Church. After graduating, she plans to attend Lancaster School of Cosmetology to become a mortuary cosmetologist.

Reagan Mendez is the daughter of Tony and Lori Mendez of New Providence. She is involved in FFA, yearbook committee, Link Crew, the fall plays, and the spring musicals. She is captain of the tennis team and is a member of NHS. Reagan attends Freedom Life Church. After graduating, she plans to go into ministry.

Rilyn Abigail Saner is the daughter of Ryan and Rebecca Saner of New Providence. She is involved in the WSLC media team, and Ophelia Club, and she serves as secretary to the Student Senate Executive Board. During her time with the girls' soccer team, Rilyn has been selected as a First Team All-Star and the MVP. Outside of school, she plays for Penn FC Youth Lightning soccer travel team and is a member of Worship Center. After graduating, Rilyn plans to attend college to major in psychology and continue her soccer career.

Hannah Wood is the daughter of Jeff and Tammy Wood of Nottingham. She plays varsity soccer and basketball, and is on the track team. She is a member of Varsity Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), NHS, Link Crew, and Grinder's club, and she participates in Ophelia Day. She is active in FFA. Outside of school, she attends youth group and plays travel soccer for Unity FC. After graduating, she plans to attend college to major in criminology.

Blake Cheyney Morgan is the son of Andrew and Jessica Morgan. He is member of the baseball team and FCA, and has been named to the honor roll. Outside of school, Blake is a member of Freedom Life Church.

Cole Jacob Gladfelter is the son of Paul and Julie Gladfelter of Kirkwood. He is on the varsity football and basketball teams and has participated in Ophelia Club, Rachel's Challenge, and Best Buddies. After graduating, he plans to attend college.

Trent Alexander Henry is the son of Ralph and Bobbie Jo Henry of Quarryville. He participates in varsity football, track, and basketball. He is president of the senior class and is a member of Varsity Club, FCA, and Rachel's Challenge. He is the Spanish Student of the Year and a Special Olympics buddy as well as a member of the class rank committee. He is involved in the youth group at Freedom Life Church. After graduating, he plans to attend college at the University of Delaware with the goal of becoming an athletic trainer.

Aden "AJ" Jackson is the son of Tony and Cathy Jackson of New Providence. AJ has been active in the music and drama departments with chorale, chorus, orchestra, fall plays, and spring musicals. He is a member of the drama club and Link Crew. Outside of school, he is active in Boy Scout Troop 48, has performed in numerous products with Servant Stage Theater Company, takes voice lessons at Wieand Vocal Studio, and has participated in the NATS competition at Penn State University. He is active in the youth group at Encounter Church. After graduating, AJ hopes to be accepted into the Sight & Sound Conservatory program, with the goal of pursuing a career in musical theater. He also plans to attend Millersville University.

Trent McDowell is the son of Chad and Jen McDowell of Quarryville. Trent has held leadership positions in the Student Senate every year of high school, and he currently serves as vice president of the Student Senate Executive Board. He is a member of the Varsity Club, is an ambassador with the Renaissance program, and participates in Ophelia Day. He is captain of the soccer and track and field teams, and is an All-Star for both teams. He also plays football and basketball. Outside of school, Trent is a member of the SECA swim team and is a member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. After he graduates, his plan is to attend college to study construction management and play football.

Jonathan Revolorio Morales is the son of Leticia Morales and Edmido Carillo of Quarryville. He is on the varsity football and track and field teams, and he is a member of the Varsity Club. After graduating, Jonathan plans to become a real estate agent.

Elijah Reimold is the son of Shawn and Donita Reimold of Peach Bottom. He is on the football, basketball, and track teams. He is a member of the Varsity Club and a leader in FCA. After graduating, Elijah plans to become a real estate agent.

Steven Williams III is the son of Steven Jr. and Jamie Williams of Peach Bottom. Steven is president of the Student Senate Executive Board, president of Best Buddies, captain of Link Crew, a member of NHS, founder of Adopt-A-Solanco High School Senior, an Ophelia Day leader, a leader of FCA, and a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Alumnus. He is a two-year varsity wrestler. Steven volunteers with Solanco Blood Drive, Night to Shine, and SECA cleanups, and he is a personal tutor for underclassmen. He is also co-founder of Diamond Auto Detailing. After graduating, Steven plans to major in biology in college. His career goal is to become a sports medicine physician and surgeon.
