Chanceford Church Sets Community Events

Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 1784 Woodbine Road, Airville, invites the community to two upcoming events.

The church's Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 31, will begin promptly at 5 p.m. with a brief lesson, after which children will be organized in lines to begin visiting the trunks. Admission is a canned food good for the Mason-Dixon Food Locker. Community members are invited bring their children in costume or to decorate their vehicle trunks and hand out treats to area children. Adults may come in costume to hand treats out as well. This year, the church also invites furry four-legged friends to come in costume, as doggie treats will be available. After children visit the trunks, they will be welcome to go on a hay ride if they wish.

A community outreach line dance will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. DJ Kenny will spin the tunes, and donations placed in donations jars will benefit DJ Kenny. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and all proceeds will go to the church for the use of the building. The line dance is a free family event for people of all ages but is not a drop-off event; everyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The line dance typically takes place every second Saturday from November through March. A dance will be taught each night at approximately 7 or 7:30 p.m. Masks will be optional. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on church grounds.
