LMTA To Celebrate Anniversary

The Lancaster Music Teachers Association (LMTA) will celebrate its 50th anniversary with dinner and a program at Greenfield Restaurant, 595 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m.

The evening will include a social hour, dinner, and a musical program. Featured performers will be Scott Besser, Jonathan Keener, and Aaron Hungerford. All three pianists are former students of LMTA teachers and have completed graduate studies.

A brief historical overview of the chapter will also be presented. The evening will conclude with a performance of a commissioned piano duet by contemporary composer Catherine Rollins.

LMTA is a chapter of the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association as well as the Music Teachers National Association. The local chapter was formed in 1970 and has given hundreds of students opportunities to perform solo and ensemble music.
