Life Transforming Ministries (LTM) is seeking volunteers to assist with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. An initiative of the IRS, VITA provides free tax preparation and filing for low- and moderate-income households, people with disabilities, and those with limited English proficiency. Since 2004, the LTM VITA program has been a partnership-driven, authorized IRS e-file provider under the oversight of the Philadelphia IRS office.

Multiple roles are available, such as tax preparer, quality reviewer, interpreter in English and Spanish, and greeter. Volunteers would assist with the preparation of 2020 taxes during February, March, and April.

No prior tax experience is necessary, and volunteers may choose to receive the free IRS certification training in a classroom or at their own pace online. After completing the training, they may set up a volunteering schedule that works for them. LTM currently has VITA locations in Coatesville, Downingtown, Exton, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Royersford, and West Chester.
