Hiking Club Slates Outdoor Opportunities

A short hike following the Canadochly Creek from the Hooper farm to Native Lands County Park will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12, to see the site of the last Susquehannock village. A 10-mile shuttle hike will take place on Sunday, Dec. 19, in Michaux State Forest from Old Forge Picnic Grounds to Mont Alto State Park via Snowy Mountain. This hike will be on some less commonly used trails. Participants should bring snacks, water, lunch, and good hiking shoes. Hikers will meet at 8 a.m. at 1201 Woodberry Road, York, or at 9 a.m. at Mont Alto State Park. For details, contact David Lukes at 717-818-4751 or captainskit@gmail.com.

A medium-length, after-Christmas hike will be offered on Sunday, Dec. 26, in Rocky Ridge Park. If the weather is good, attendees will attempt a longer perimeter hike. Hikers should bring water, snacks, and sturdy hiking shoes. Participants will meet at 9 a.m. at the first parking lot on the left at the entrance to Rocky Ridge Park.
